Kamen Rider Geats (仮面ライダーギーツ, Kamen Raidā Gītsu, Masked Rider Geats) is a Japanese tokusatsu drama in Toei Company's Kamen Rider series. The series is the fourth to debut in the Reiwa era and the thirty-seventh overall in the Kamen Rider franchise. Carrying a battle royale theme inspired by games such as Fortnite, Apex Legends, and Squid Game, Geats offers a fresh competition format in the long history of this franchise.
Synopsis
The story of Kamen Rider Geats centers on a game called the Desire Grand Prix (DGP), a secret competition that is highly popular among certain circles. In this game, participants called "Players" battle to gain the right to realize their greatest wish. Each participant transforms into a Kamen Rider and battles mysterious monsters called Jyamato as well as fellow players in order to be the last one standing.
The four Kamen Riders who are the focus of the story are Ace Ukiyo as Kamen Rider Geats, Keiwa Sakurai as Kamen Rider Tycoon, Neon Kurama as Kamen Rider Na-Go, and Michinaga Azuma as Kamen Rider Buffa. Throughout the course of the story, the gray boundary between right and wrong continues to be questioned, challenging the beliefs and determination of the characters. Their adventure is not merely a search for victory, but also an in-depth exploration of desire, the consequences of uncontrolled ambition, and the true meaning of heroism.
The series premiered on September 4, 2022, joining Avataro Sentai Donbrothers in the Super Hero Time lineup after the end of Kamen Rider Revice. After Donbrothers finished, Geats joined Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger until it finally ended on August 27, 2023, replaced by Kamen Rider Gotchard the following week. With a total of 49 episodes, the series became one of the Reiwa series with the highest number of episodes.
Main Characters
Ace Ukiyo / Kamen Rider Geats
Ace Ukiyo (浮世 英寿) is a mysterious man portrayed by Hideyoshi Kan (簡秀吉). He transforms into Kamen Rider Geats with a white kitsune motif. Ace has genius fighting instincts, making him undefeated in various previous Desire Grand Prix tournaments. He is nicknamed the "Star of the Stars of the Stars" (スター・オブ・ザ・スターズ・オブ・ザ・スターズ) after winning the DGP "Daybreak". His true motivation is to find his missing mother, Mitsume, and he mysteriously has the ability to reincarnate across centuries in order to pursue that goal.
Keiwa Sakurai / Kamen Rider Tycoon
Keiwa Sakurai (桜井 景和) is portrayed by Ryūga Satō (佐藤瑠雅). He is a university student who is looking for work. His hobby is volunteering, and he is depicted as a kind-hearted man who strongly hopes for world peace. Keiwa transforms into Kamen Rider Tycoon with a green tanuki motif. In the midst of his failed job interviews, he becomes involved in the DGP and survives together with the other participants.
Neon Kurama / Kamen Rider Na-Go
Neon Kurama (鞍馬 祢音) is portrayed by Yuna Hoshino (星乃夢奈). As a celebrity influencer, Neon has everything from money to beauty. However, she has an unusual dream of becoming an ordinary person and letting go of all that luxury. She transforms into Kamen Rider Na-Go with a gold-yellow cat motif.
Michinaga Azuma / Kamen Rider Buffa
Michinaga Azuma (吾妻 道長) is portrayed by Kazuto Mokudai (杢代和人). As Ace's main rival, Michinaga is a construction worker who transforms into Kamen Rider Buffa with a buffalo motif. He has a cynical view of the DGP and a strong desire to destroy the game system itself.
Other Supporting Characters
In addition to the four main characters, there are a number of important supporting characters. Tsumuri is the DGP navigator who helps the participants. Girori and Niramu are DGP organizing staff with their own agendas. Ziin, portrayed by Fuku Suzuki, is a huge fan of Ace from the future who interferes in the course of the game. Win Hareruya or Kamen Rider PunkJack also appears as a character whose background is explored more deeply in a side story.
Episodes
The Kamen Rider Geats series consists of 49 episodes divided into several arcs that focus on different Desire Grand Prix tournaments. The first arc, "Daybreak F: Invitation to the Rider", began on September 4, 2022, introducing the participants and the game mechanics. In this episode, mysterious monsters attack the city and selected individuals gather to battle as Kamen Riders, with the winner entitled to one wish. Two of them are Ace (Kamen Rider Geats) and Michinaga (Kamen Rider Buffa). Meanwhile, Keiwa and Neon are caught in the battle but succeed in surviving. The winner of this game is Ace.
The next arc, "Encounter I: Treasure Hunting and Thievery", beginning September 11, 2022, deepens the conflict with the death of a participant named Takahito Taira who dies in Keiwa's arms, but his wish to save his sick son is ultimately fulfilled by Ace. The "Conspiracy" and "Lamentation" arcs continue the story by revealing the secrets behind the organization of the DGP and the true motives of the staff. The final arc, which focuses on Ace's strongest form, Kamen Rider Geats IX, ends the series with a major climax between Ace and the founder of the Desire Grand Prix, Suel, in which Ace awakens the power of creation to save the world.
Films and Related Media
Like Kamen Rider series in general, Kamen Rider Geats is also supported by various films and side media. The main film, titled Kamen Rider Geats x Revice Movie Battle Royale, brings together the characters from these two Reiwa series in a large battle. In addition, there is the film Kamen Rider Geats: 4 Aces and the Black Fox, which tells of a world split into four and a different Ace existing in each world.
There is also a TTFC-exclusive web special titled Kamen Rider Geats Extra: Kamen Rider PunkJack that explores the origins of the Desire Grand Prix and how Win Hareruya joined their staff. As part of the Kamen Rider 55th anniversary celebration in 2026, a major film project was announced that will involve various Kamen Rider series from the Heisei era, although specific details about Geats' involvement are still awaiting further announcement.

The narrator of the series is Junji Shiono.
Music and Production Staff
The series' opening theme song is "Trust・Last", performed by Koda Kumi and Shōnan no Kaze. The background music was composed by Toshihiko Sahashi, a composer also known for his work on various other tokusatsu series.
The series was written by Yuya Takahashi, previously known for his work on Kamen Rider Ex-Aid, and directed by Shojiro Nakazawa together with Teruaki Sugihara. Produced by Chihiro Inoue of TV Asahi and Naomi Takebe of Toei, each episode has a duration of around 24–25 minutes.
Other Media and Cultural Influence
Kamen Rider Geats has also given rise to various toys and collectibles. S.H.Figuarts Kamen Rider Geats IX was released in October 2026 after pre-orders opened on March 13, 2026. This form is Ace's strongest form after he awakens the power of creation in his battle against Suel, the founder of the Desire Grand Prix. Other premium toys such as the Premium DX Zombie Breaker, the signature weapon of Kamen Rider Buffa, were also released in March 2026.
The cast of Kamen Rider Geats has also been active in various events, including "Super Hero Festival 2026" (超英雄祭 KAMEN RIDER × SUPER SENTAI LIVE ＆ SHOW 2026) held on February 3 and 4, 2026 at Yokohama Arena. This event featured actors from this series, including Imai Ryutaro (the role of Momo) and others, in a music concert and live performance.
The series has also been said to collaborate with other franchises, including the appearance of Ace Ukiyo in a Death Battle episode against Nero Claudius from the Fate/EXTRA series. This shows that the influence of Kamen Rider Geats goes beyond the tokusatsu genre and reaches into a wider realm of popular culture.
