Rumi's Phenomenon (るみちゃんの事象, Rumi's Phenomenon), also known by the English title Rumi's Phenomenon, is a Japanese school comedy manga series written and illustrated by Katsunori Hara. The manga was serialized in Shogakukan's Weekly Big Comic Spirits magazine from March 7, 2011 to April 6, 2015. The story centers on a student named Rumi Ikuno and her innocent daily life, which often causes chaos and confusion for the people around her.
Synopsis
The manga's story focuses on Rumi Ikuno, a second-year transfer student at Hanagaoka Private Girls' Academy. Rumi lives her school life simply and without burden, appearing unaware that she is often the source of various problems and strange incidents that confuse others.
Rumi's life is depicted as a very strange life, in which her presence often triggers situations that feel irritating to the people around her, but on the other hand are also sometimes regarded as unexpected entertainment. Her unique lifestyle and her simple, or perhaps insensitive, attitude become the main cause of the various "phenomena" that occur around her.
Although the main synopsis is very simple, fans and some sources report that the manga also includes side stories, such as one short story titled Rumi-chan Zenya: Rumi-chan ga, Ima no Rumi-chan ni Naru Sukoshi Mae no Ohanashi that was included in volume 4. This short story likely tells of Rumi's past before she became the person she is now.

In 2015, Rumi-chan no Jishō was adapted into a live-action television drama series broadcast on MBS and TBS stations. This segment was directed by Shō Tsukikawa and Yasuyuki Fukasako, with a script written by Tsukikawa. Other supporting cast members included Erina Mano as Yoshida Kumi, Yukino Kishii as Naho, and several other actors. Meanwhile, the Tonari no Seki-kun segment starred Yūtarō Watanabe as Toshinari Seki and Fumika Shimizu as Rumi Yokoi.
